Student Projects

The following projects represent work completed by the students in my Master of Teaching Birth to 12 Classes in a subject called Fostering Creativity in Children’s Learning.

Fostering Creativity Display Day

Students in this subject create a range of artifacts as part of their final assessment. This video shows a number of pieces and the variety of way in which the students express their creativity: drawing, painting, cake decorating, graphic design and photography, collage, scrap-booking and sculpture. The accompanying music is called ‘Peace Bro’ by Childspace Band, Childspace Institute, New Zealand.

The Box

This video was prepared by students as assessment piece 1 of 3 for Fostering Creativity. There were required to develop a group creative response to a scholarly article. The article they chose was:
Drew, Walter F; Rankin, Baji. (Jul 2004):Promoting Creativity for Life Using Open-Ended Materials, Young Children Vol. 59. No. 4. pp. 38-45.
